ECONOMIC SURVEY 2021-22 |
- The Economic Survey of India is an annual document released by the Ministry of Finance.
- It contains the most authoritative and updated source of data on India’s economy.
- It is prepared by the Economics Division of the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) under the guidance of the Chief Economic Advisor.
- This year it is prepared by the Principal Economic Advisor ( Sanjeev Sanyal)
- It is usually presented a day before the Union Budget is presented in the Parliament.
- Economic Survey 2021-22
- For second year running, the Economic Survey was written under the cloud of the Covid-19 pandemic.
- These have been difficult times for the world economy.
- The theme of this Economic Survey, therefore, relates to the art and science of policy- making under conditions of extreme uncertainty.
- Deviating from traditionally used “Waterfall approach”, this year survey adopts the “Agile approach” as its central theme.
