 Mani Shankar Aiyar Committee  To examine the functioning of Panchayats and make recommendations.      
Shailesh Nayak Committee  The committee recommended curtailing the Central Government’s regulatory authority in coastal areas.      
The Expert Committee on Tribal Health headed by Dr. Abhay Bang  To primarily look into the present status of health and health care in tribal areas and to draw a road map for the future to bridge the gaps in health status in tribal areas.      
Ranganath Misra Commission  Paragraph 3 of the Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Order 1950 should be made religion-neutral. But no action has been taken by the government on this.      
Rajinder Sachar Committee  Observed that the “social and economic situation of Dalit Muslims and Dalit  Christians did not improve after conversion”.      
A study commissioned by the National Commission on Minorities( led by Satish Deshpande) Made a strong case for extending SC status to Dalit Christians and Dalit Muslims. The recommendations were not accepted.      
Kargil Review Committee, Naresh Chandra Task Force, and Shekatkar Committee Proposed their own versions of a Chief of Defence Staff.       
G. Mahalingam Committee(formed by SEBI) to strengthen government norms at the  Market Infrastructure Institutions (MIIs)      
Election Commission of India Committee  To investigate the matter and find out ways so that NRIs and migrant workers can take part in the election process.      
The commission headed by  Major General (retd)  S R Sinho Reservation for Economically Weaker  Sections (EWS) of the society.      
Justice V.M. Tarkunde Committee, Goswami Committee,   Second Administrative Reforms Commission Elections and electoral reforms.      
National Commission for Denotifies, Nomadic and semi- Nomadic Tribes(NCDNT)/ Renke Commission To identify and list the Denotified Tribal communities.      
J&K Delimitation Commission  Headed by retired Supreme Court Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai. It was entrusted with the work of delimiting the Assembly and Parliamentary Constituencies in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir based on the 2011 Census.      
 National Medical Commission (NMC)  It regulates medical education and medical professionals in India and has replaced the Medical Council of India.      
 Lokur Committee  To look into criteria for defining Schedule Tribes.
